Tim Gaffney, AAI, CWCA Earns
WorkComp Advisor Certification

Alpharetta, Georgia (April 10, 2006) - Tim Gaffney, a Business Insurance Problem Solver for Gillman Insurance in Alpharetta, recently earned the prestigious Certified WorkComp Advisor designation, conferred by the Institute of WorkComp Professionals. The certification training provided by the Institute trains insurance professionals to locate costly errors in Workers’ Compensation coverage and is essential in reviewing Workers’ Compensation insurance reports. Gaffney is now certified to help his clients save money on their Workers’ Compensation, by helping them have an overcharge-proof audit, improve their hiring skills, implementing an effective “back to work” program for injured employees, and showing them how to drive their experience modifications down to their lowest legal minimums.

“More than 50% of companies are paying too much for Workers’ Compensation,” says Gaffney. “With this certification and my thirty years of experience, I have the background and training to assist companies in gaining refunds and correcting what could be unnecessary, costly mistakes.”

According to Preston Diamond, president of the Institute of WorkComp Professionals, Workers’ Compensation insurance differs from other types of insurance coverage because it is very difficult for most insurance agents to detect errors. “Unless the insurance agent has the necessary training to locate and correct the errors in Workers’ Compensation coverage, the problems may go undetected for years. As a result, business owners could end up paying higher premiums than required until the error is detected,” says Diamond.

“The training I received to gain my certification enables me to not only spot errors, but to also work more effectively with insurance companies,” says Gaffney. “Because of this additional training, I will be able to ensure that my clients’ Workers’ Compensation records are completely accurate and that they are not overpaying.”

Gaffney’s company, Gillman Insurance, recently created a new division, Georgia Workers Compensation Solutions, dedicated to helping businesses with 20 to 250 employees manage their Workers Compensation process in the same way they manage any other process in their business. Currently, there are approximately 300 insurance agencies in the United States that have staff members who have qualified for the Certified WorkComp Advisor designation. Gaffney is the first Certified WorkComp Advisor at Gillman Insurance and the only one in the North Fulton area.

Gillman Insurance Group was established in 1993 by Ed Gillman and Tim Gaffney, with the idea that insurance does not have to be a frustrating, complicated, process for the consumer. Because of their preferred relationship with most of the insurance companies they represent, and because they are Independent Agents, they have the flexibility and are free to choose the best carrier to meet their client’s insurance needs.
